Target audience for this course include planners, designers, operation personnel and project managers. In addition to optical fibers used in datacom and telecommunications, the course covers most active and passive components and modules used in optical networking.
CONA focuses on SWDM, CWDM, and DWDM networks at 10 and 25Gbps per channel and up to 80+ channels.
Topics covered include, but are not limited to:
- Properties of light
- Fiber optic testing
- Transmission of light in optical fibers
- Fiber optic impairments and their mitigation
- Passive optical components
- Optical amplifiers
- Optical multiplexing
- Dispersion management
- Power budgets
- Photonic networks
