CHARLOTTE, N.C. – November 28, 2018 – Flexential, a leading provider of hybrid IT and wholesale data center solutions, today announced the addition of six new peering exchanges in edge markets throughout the U.S. Upon completion in early 2019, the new exchanges in the tier 2 markets of Raleigh, Las Vegas, Minneapolis, Nashville, Dallas and Salt Lake City will provide businesses with lower latency and connectivity costs, as well as more choice and greater access to data via the company’s FlexAnywhere network fabric.

Built on a 100 Gbps network backbone, FlexAnywhere provides secure, low-latency access to Flexential’s 41 data centers (largely in tier 2 markets), 80+ domestic and international carriers, 14 cloud nodes and more than 250 network, data center, managed service and cloud providers. These six new peering exchanges will provide customers across the country with direct access to the FlexAnywhere network, allowing them to bypass internet traffic, reduce costs and risk, improve network performance and streamline their network management without the need for third-party providers.

“This is a visionary move by Flexential,” said Kelly Morgan, vice president, data center infrastructure and managed services at 451 Research. “Some of these important new edge markets, such as Raleigh, Salt Lake City, Nashville and Las Vegas, will have access to a peering exchange for the first time, which will be instrumental for local businesses who need lower latency and better access to data.”

Flexential recently announced an expanded peering exchange in Denver and most recently the opening of Charlotte-IX, the first peering exchange in Charlotte. The company remains committed to this path of building strong, strategic partnerships that grow and enrich connectivity options for its customers.

“Access to a peering exchange brings new opportunities for economic growth within a region, especially in edge markets,” said Chris Downie, CEO of Flexential. “Providing these connectivity options to our customers in these fast-growing markets is a significant milestone for our company and sets a new standard in the industry.”
