CrowdStrike Receives Highest Score for “Lean Forward” Organizations (Type A Use Cases) in Gartner’s Second Critical Capabilities for Endpoint Protection Platforms Report

For the second year in a row, CrowdStrike ranks within highest three product scores across all use cases
SUNNYVALE, Calif.–(BUSINESS WIRE)–CrowdStrike® Inc. (Nasdaq: CRWD), a leader in cloud-delivered endpoint protection, today announced that Gartner, Inc. has given CrowdStrike the highest product score in the Type A use case in Gartner’s the second annual Critical Capabilities for Endpoint Protection Platforms report[i].CrowdStrike received the highest score for the Type A use case, which focused on “lean forward” organizations that adopt new technologies very early in the adoption cycle. CrowdStrike also received the second highest scores for the Type B use case and third highest score for the Type C use case named in the report, which we believe attests to the overall strength and value of the CrowdStrike portfolio.

Gartner’s research assessed 20 Endpoint Protection Platform (EPP) vendors for three use cases based on type of organization. For the Critical Capabilities for Endpoint Protection Platforms report, Gartner reviewed the following classes of products and services: prevention, ease of use, cloud management, EPP suite, managed services, geographic support, EDR (endpoint detection and response) functionality and OS support.[i]

“We believe that CrowdStrike’s recognition in the Gartner Critical Capabilities report for the second year in a row is a true validator that we continue to lead the industry with the most comprehensive endpoint security platform that advances organizations’ transitions to the cloud,” said George Kurtz, chief executive officer and co-founder of CrowdStrike. “Our team remains laser-focused on building out our cutting-edge technology to stop breaches, while optimizing security resources and capabilities through Falcon’s single agent and intelligent platform architecture.”

This August, CrowdStrike was positioned by Gartner, Inc. in the Leaders quadrant of the Magic Quadrant for Endpoint Protection Platforms[ii] The report, which evaluates vendors based on completeness of vision and their ability to execute, positioned CrowdStrike furthest for completeness of vision in the entire Magic Quadrant. The Critical Capabilities for Endpoint Protection Platforms research from Gartner is a companion of the analysis for the 2019 Magic Quadrant for Endpoint Protection Platforms, and uses the same data collected during that research period.

CrowdStrike’s unique approach starts with its cloud native platform and intelligent lightweight agent that enables frictionless deployment of the platform at scale. The agent sends data to the cloud, while retaining local detection and prevention capabilities. The Falcon platform integrates 10 cloud modules that span multiple capabilities, including endpoint security, security operations and threat intelligence to deliver comprehensive breach protection against today’s sophisticated attacks.

CrowdStrike Falcon customers can prevent attacks on endpoints on or off the network with the power of crowdsourced data that delivers cloud-scale artificial intelligence (AI) with real-time protection and visibility across the enterprise, including at the firmware level. The CrowdStrike Threat Graph® enables the CrowdStrike Falcon to unlock the power of this data and correlate over two trillion endpoint-related events per week in real time from across the globe, fueling one of the world’s most advanced data platforms for security.
