HPC-AI Advisory Council Bolsters Open Resources and Support for Community-wide Collaborations

With Contribution from Dell Technologies, HPC-AI Advisory Council Introduces New Iris Cluster Into Its Mix of Open Access Platforms
SUNNYVALE, Calif.–(BUSINESS WIRE)–#AI–The member-based for community benefit HPC-AI Advisory Council today announced its High-Performance Center’s newest platform “Iris” is immediately available for community-wide access.

Through the generosity of Dell Technologies, one of the Council’s founding members, experts can continue to explore a host of HPC and AI interests on the powerful new PowerEdge C6420 servers.

Representing the thirteenth system hosted at the Council’s Sunnyvale-based lab since its 2008 inception, the new 32-node HDR InfiniBand-based cluster provides a unique test-bed to support a range of remote users and requests from standard benchmarking and application development to exploring advanced technologies and integration testing in addition to providing a supplemental resource for researchers to complete critical complex works.

“We fully support the council’s efforts to bring HPC and AI capabilities to new users for better research, education and innovation,” said Onur Celebioglu, Sr. Director, Solutions Engineering at Dell Technologies. “We hope the contribution will help provide a great return by having an added resource for their ongoing efforts to move HPC and AI to the next level for the benefit of all.”

“Dell has been an incredible advocate in its long-standing membership and ongoing support of the HPC-AI Advisory Council,” said Gilad Shainer, chairman of the HPC-AI Advisory Council. “Dell’s systems contributions alone have resulted in over a hundred clustering, application and productivity best practices that end-users reference routinely to help optimize their own system and application usage. We’re incredibly excited to explore Iris’ capabilities and continuing what has been a truly groundbreaking collaboration.”

The HPC-AI Advisory Council High-Performance Center, located in Sunnyvale, California, provides secure remote sessions and technical support. Apply for access today. Additional support can be obtained through the HPC-AI Advisory Council’s HPC-Works space which provides guidelines for application installations on HPC clusters, including the required software components.
