I’ve taken the CONA course with them and it was a great experience. It was my first time taking an optical networking course. It was a small class of 2 people and we got enough individual attention to make sure we understood the entire material. Most people don’t know how much optical networking is valued in the high frequency trading world! If you can get your employer to pay for it, this course can certainly get you a promotion.

The instructor Jabulani is highly educated and experienced professional in this field and had answers to most of my oddball questions. There are many things we just know, assume or heard from someone but he was able to explain the science behind it satisfactorily.

The coursework is designed to cover theory, practical assignments, hands on lab, a group project assignment and final test. Group projects were fun and interesting.

I recently completed the OTT Certified Optical Network Associate course delivered by FiberGuide. If you are interested in how CWDM, DWDM and Transport fiber systems work, I highly recommend this course.

In my 25 year career, my focus has been on Fiber Lans and I knew very little about wave division multiplexing or OTN networks.

The instructor Jabulani Dhliwayo is very patient, started with the basics and built our knowledge throughout the week.

The course is designed to provide theory and hands on through various assignments and concludes with a comprehension test and a final project. The final project includes designing a long haul system including a bill of material and cost estimate.”
